Historically, brown glass served as a light shield, protecting it's inner contents such as beer, medicine.. mostly beer (this is Australia after all), from harsh UV Rays which can cause a 'skunky' or 'lightstruck' flavour. The brown sea glass of the Lightstruck Chime, once a barrier, is now ready to welcome the warm sunlight in.
- Comprises 100 pieces of brown sea glass gathered from local beaches, meticulously drilled, arranged, and strung by hand with nylon line onto driftwood wrapped in jute twine.
- Measures 53cm long from hanging point to lowest piece of glass, and 39cm wide
